About Leah Kessler
Leah Kessler has had a wide range of experiences within the field of Education. She earned her BA in Psychology, MA in Education and teaching credential at Stanford University. As a teacher, Leah prioritized developing strong relationships with students, families and colleagues and consistently worked to provide differentiated strategies and instructions to make learning accessible to every child in her classroom. She then moved into school leadership, becoming an Assistant Principal, and received her MA in Educational Administration. In this capacity, Leah led all 504 and Student Success Team meetings, as well as many IEPs. She believes strongly in building on children’s strengths to develop appropriate strategies and interventions to support different learning styles and challenges students face in the classroom. Leah has seen over and over the transformational effect it can have to bring together teams of adults, including parents, teachers, school specialists, administrators and the children themselves to determine the best accommodations and plans of action to make school work for kids and support children to thrive.
Since relocating with her family back to the LA area, Leah has taken her favorite parts of her previous roles to work directly with families to provide individual children with the strategies and tools that they need to succeed, and to partner with parents to support them. Leah has pursued in depth professional development in Orton Gillingham to provide early dyslexia intervention to K-2 students. Additionally, she is an ADHD certified educator, and supports students and families with executive functioning, and strategies for success in the classroom and at home.
Leah resides in Pacific Palisades with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, work in her garden, cook, read and get outside as much as possible to enjoy local trails and the beaches.
